Growing your career at CHS

Before each Center opens, Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning teachers and staff begin their full-time employment with our nearly year-long* paid professional development program. This program offers an innovative onboarding and professional development approach, enabling staff, including leadership, teachers, and family liaisons, to fully integrate into the CHS mission and approach. Once Centers open, professional development continues, encouraging lifelong learning and career growth.

Purposeful and dedicated development

The professional development program is a key foundational onboarding component before each Center opens. During these first months, staff will:

  • Attend this full-time program every weekday
  • Receive full salary while participating
  • Experience hands-on and collaborative learning
  • Establish strong team dynamics

Program approach

Our goal is to further expand the existing skills and knowledge of our teachers and staff while leveraging best practices in early childhood education training. The topics covered during the professional development program include CHS and early childhood education foundations, curriculum and assessment, family success, health and safety, and are delivered through various learning approaches, including:

  • Individual and group learning
  • Keynote and guest speakers
