Senior IT Generalist
Role Description:
The CHS Senior Information Technology Generalist is passionate about implementing technology solutions in an educational environment. This individual will assist and report to the Information Technology Manager in establishing, installing configuring, and maintaining systems and workstations for the CHS Central Office and accompanying Centers. The Senior IT Generalist will provide leadership in training and guiding staff members with all technology related matters. In addition, the individual will be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve and enhance current systems. The Senior IT Generalist is dynamic and strategic in reviewing and managing IT systems around support, project management, and system upgrades, and can assist in coordinating contracts with third-party providers as necessary.
Responsibilities include:

Deploying strategic plans for the CHS IT operating model

Assisting to establish a network for the CHS Centers to facilitate information sharing while following best practices in cybersecurity

Working with the IT Manager to plan system rollouts and budget renewals
-
Implementing and integrating operational and education technology/software across the CHS Central Office and CHS Centers

Managing infrastructure technology assets and activities (including personal devices) for the CHS Central Office and CHS Centers
-
Undertaking asset management process to recommend devices that need maintenance or replacement
-
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to applications such as Windows OS, MS Office Suites, Adobe Acrobat, etc.

Overseeing upgrades of existing systems, and recommending upgrades for current or new systems

Training CHS staff members in how to use relevant systems

Establishing clear lines of communication for responsive technical support to CHS staff and children as needed
-
Providing oversight for system access and Active Directories
-
Assisting the IT Manager with security, regulatory, and technology audits.

Conducting data backups, and data restoration efforts, when the situation requires
-
Developing and documenting procedures for training plans
-
Assisting with vendor relationships and ensuring vendors are meeting project objectives and SLAs
-
Building and maintaining positive relationships with all staff and encouraging Center growth and performance
Requirements include:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
-
3+ years of experience in a similar role
-
Proficiency in networking, IT infrastructure, firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, etc.), and software support

Microsoft 365: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (preferred)

Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (preferred)
-
Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (preferred)

Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
-
Knowledge of functional areas such as telecommunications, and classroom technology trends
-
Demonstrated ability in managing and maintaining a Help Desk tracking/ticketing process
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
-
Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused environment

Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families (preferred)

Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions

Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback

Comfortability with technology including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and/or willingness to learn

U.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances
