Risk, Safety and Security Manager, Early Childhood Centers
The Risk, Safety, and Security Manager is an individual passionate about the safety and security of children. This individual sets the vision and program of CHS safety standards, policies, and services, The Risk, Safety, and Security Manager manages training, and creates programming for all safety and security needs. This individual is part of the CHS Central Office team, reporting to the Director Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and implementing ECE-appropriate Safety and Security policies, best practices, and governance
- Tracking and monitoring safety/security risks and ensuring critical mitigations to quickly resolve situations
- Working with the CHS Team to ensure student safety and safety policies are being followed and prioritized
- Assisting in creating, revising, and updating the training needs of each Center
- Writing investigative, incident, accident, and similar reports
- Directing operations at the scenes of critical incidents, significant calls for service, and special events
- Reviewing incident reports completed by Safety Coordinators and Associates.
- Liaising with local government and law enforcement as needed
- Coordinating meetings and trainings with Safety Coordinators and Associates
- Ensuring all safety equipment are properly maintained and in good working order
- Ensuring that the centers maintain OSHA compliance
- Ensuring all recalls and expirations on child equipment is replaced or tracked
- Presenting information on crime prevention and other safety related presentations to parents, and staff
- Ensuring Critical Incident Plans are in place at each center and participating in both drills and tabletop exercises
- Coordinating with security suppliers and vendors for a variety of initiatives.
- Ensuring that corrective action is taken for unsafe conditions
Requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Minimum 5 years in Safety/Risk Management with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity

Valid PA Driver’s license

Ability to operate security camera, and access control systems

Experience in creating and/or implementing an education-based safety and security program

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused organization

Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families (preferred)

Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions

Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback

Comfortability with technology including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and/or willingness to learn

Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, lead, and educate teams
