Role Description:

The Recruiter is responsible for the sourcing, selection and hiring of high quality and diverse staff in a high quality, time and cost-effective manner.  The Recruiter also is responsible for development and enhancement of recruiting infra-structure to produce high quality and diverse hires.  This position reports to the Central Office Human Resources department and supports the organization broadly in the meeting our strategic growth initiative.  Starting salary is in the range of $48,607 - $64,891 based on expertise. 

Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Selection -

  • Develops hiring plans with CHS Centers and/or Central Office hiring leaders which includes an ideal candidate summary, a sourcing strategy, and a selection plan
  • To support new center launches and ongoing hiring needs, collaborates with Marketing and Communications department and HR Team to develop and collaboratively implement a recruitment strategy 
  • Monitors outreach effectiveness and adapts accordingly
  • Drafts postings and implements sourcing; ensuring diversity outreach is included
  • Selects resumes for further consideration
  • Develops interview guides and affiliated screening tools
  • Conducts phone interviews
  • Participates in interviews and acts in a consultative role to hiring teams
  • Acts in an advisory role to hiring leaders through the process to ensure consistent and legal procedures are followed and highly selective standards are upheld
  • Oversees the background checking and medical assessments.  Reviews reports to determine if candidates may be hired.  Confers with HR Director as needed 
  • Ensures finalists are smoothly transitioned to the employment team and training for pre-boarding
  • In cases of high-volume recruiting, maintains and communicates “recruiting funnels”.  Utilizes this data for planning and predictions
  • Supports Center HR Generalist in recruiting and interviewing responsibilities
  • Maintains close communication with CHS leaders to proactively identify future hiring needs
  • Effectively prioritizes and manages recruitment of a high volume of varying positions to support new school launches while adhering to and providing input toward strategic hiring timeline
  • Ensures processes, etc. are conducted in a highly professional and legally compliant manner
  • Maintains applicant database

Outreach -

  • Attends events off-site to recruit and promote CHS in the marketplace, particularly to diverse audiences
  • Creates and implements web-based and on-site events to attract potential staff to CHS, particularly with diverse audiences
  • Participates in weekly meetings with ad agency and Marketing and Communications department, to plan and adapt, as needed
  • Leverages new marketplace tools and implements new outreach strategies
  • Collaborates with other local and relevant industry employers
  • Develops talent communities, leverage LinkedIn, etc. to develop a pool of readily available talent
  • Manages special projects and programs such as alumni outreach, etc.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives -

  • Troubleshoots and leverages situations for future problem-solving and/or changing processes/procedures for better future outcomes
  • Leverages data for reporting things such as cost per hire, for predictive purposes, and for cost management
  • Implements innovations, as appropriate
  • Updates policies, procedures, documents etc. as needed
  • Adapts new technology and provides input into technology decisions
  • Completes special projects

Project Work -

  • In collaboration with the broader HR team, work to identify and implement critical path activities for Center support and future openings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5-8 years of related experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
  • HR and staff recruiting knowledge, including legal compliance
  • Experience in education or related field a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, social media, internet and ATS/HRIS
  • Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to self-manage and multi-task effectively and accurately in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
