PennLive: Catherine and Milton Hershey can’t come too soon to Harrisburg

In a recent opinion piece, Joyce Davis spotlights the importance of early childhood education and the critical need Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning (CHS), a subsidiary of Milton Hershey School (MHS), will address by opening a center in Harrisburg, PA in 2024. The center, which will serve children from birth to age five from low-income families, was announced earlier this year. The 45,000-square-foot building will be located at the corner of North 6th and Muench Streets in the Midtown neighborhood of Harrisburg.

The article also highlights a recent reception hosted by The Nativity School of Harrisburg, where local leaders including CHS Executive Director Senate Alexander and MHS & CHS President Pete Gurt discussed their shared goal of breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
